So you want to change the controls, eh? Well its your lucky day. Read on to see how you can run Redline Racer with your joystick, mouse or keyboard.

This page is split into three areas. Click on the words below to jump ahead:

Joystick

OK, first things first. This guide assumes that your joystick is set up, plugged in and configured.  If it's not, or you're not sure what I'm on about, then check out the 'My joystick doesn't work section.

Now that's out the way, let's begin:

  1. From the 'Main Menu' click on 'Configure'.
  2. Next, click on 'Controls'.
  3. Now you're presented with a screen listing the bike actions and the relevant control method.   By default it's set to use the keyboard, so let's tell it you want to use the joystick.  First, we'll change the accelerate action.
  4. Click on 'Accelerate', then press the joystick button you wish to use (let's say Fire).
  5. The Accelerate control changes to the new action (i.e. Button One).
  6. Let's change 'Turn Left'.
  7. Click on 'Turn Left', then pull the joystick left.
  8. The action changes to 'Joy Left'.
  9. Continue until you have assigned all the controls.
  10. Click 'OK' when your done.
  11. When you leave Redline Racer the configuration is saved so you will only need to do this once (unless you change your mind or reinstall the game).
